SAIC is looking for a Technical Writer III in Crane, IN to support CR Small Arms Weapons USSCOM Technical publication tasking.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position works in support of multiple organizations with a variety of Integrated Product Support tasks - involving document (TM, RPSTLs, OM and TRS) development, MIL-STD guidelines.
Job duties include but may not be limited to:
- Edit images in Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. Utilize Adobe FrameMaker to edit all technical publications, conduct/support live edits to projects during Val/Ver.
- Work with others to meet multiple deadlines.
- Schedule meetings to discuss current and upcoming projects.
- Navigate IPDM to make plans for upcoming review.
- Work with logistics to complete RPSTL conversions.
- Start to finish review document to get them prepared for engineering review.
- Use of various Navy and Dept of Defense enterprise systems, as well as non-standard (local) data systems, and information repositories such as SharePoint and IPDM.
- Preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documentation that incorporates information and data from Program Office, customer, end user, project leads, SMEs, and ISEAs.
- SOPs routing and approvals.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma and 3-5 years of experience
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; Interim Secret needed to start
- Must possess excellent verbal/written communication and analytical skills, including the ability to develop general concepts into written procedures.
- Background with technical writing and/or development of SOCOM technical publications; such as; TRS, OM and OEM conversion that are related to MIL-STDs.
- A self-starter who is comfortable working individually, as well as being a team player who understands the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and open communication
- Mid-level proficiency with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint.
- Ability to work at a Government facility in Crane, IN.
- Secret clearance, CAC badge and .navy.mil a plus
- Strong technical expertise in Adobe FrameMaker software program.
