Position Summary

The Systems Engineer I supports the technological infrastructure that powers GA. This role involves designing, deploying, and managing Windows and Linux desktop/server environments, as well as architecting cloud-based solutions using AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft 365. The engineer ensures system scalability, reliability, and security while collaborating across technical and business teams.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on customer service, documentation, and continuous improvement. The position may specialize in a subset of technologies based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Implementation (20%)
  
  • Design, deploy, and manage Windows/Linux environments and storage infrastructure
  • Architect and implement cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft 365)
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and security
• Infrastructure Management (20%)
  
  • Maintain and optimize physical/virtual servers and workstations
  • Monitor performance, conduct audits, troubleshoot issues
  • Implement automation, configuration management, and system upgrades
  • Perform routine maintenance (backups, patching, file management)
• Security & Compliance (20%)
  
  • Ensure systems meet industry standards and regulations
  • Manage security configurations and participate in audits
  • Address findings from assessments promptly
• Collaboration & Support (15%)
  
  • Work with development, operations, and support teams
  • Provide Tier 3 support and assist with releases, upgrades, and changes
• Documentation & Reporting (15%)
  
  • Maintain system documentation and performance reports
  • Use ITSM tools to support ITIL practices (incident, change, problem, asset management)
• Continuous Improvement & Learning (10%)
  
  • Engage in activities to enhance system performance
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices
  • Provide technical expertise across IT functions

Required Qualifications

• Education:
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution
• Experience:
  
  • Exposure to Windows/Linux environments and cloud technologies expected
  • Equivalent: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience may be considered
• Skills & Attributes:
• Strong customer service orientation
• Positive attitude and effective communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
