Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to support the development and testing of Point of Sale (POS) and other customer-facing technologies in a lab environment. This role involves hardware setup, configuration, and collaboration across multiple teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of retail solutions. Experience with Self-Checkout systems is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and test POS and customer-facing applications in a controlled lab setting.

Set up and configure new hardware components for testing and deployment.

Provide third-level support for development-related issues via a team support queue.

Collaborate with QA, IT development teams, business stakeholders, and vendor partners to troubleshoot and enhance solutions.

Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.

Submit and follow through on security risk assessments related to new or updated solutions.

Operate independently with minimal supervision, managing tasks and priorities effectively.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience with Point of Sale systems, especially Self-Checkout technologies.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in both software and hardware contexts.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Familiarity with lab environments and testing protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in retail technology or customer-facing application development.

Understanding of security risk assessment processes.
