Lead Java Engineer

Launch your Java career to new heights! Our client is seeking a top-tier Lead Java Engineer to design and deploy cutting-edge microservices and APIs powering Customer Data solutions. You'll join a dynamic team building vital mid-layer services across the organization and with external partners, and we need your expertise in Java 8+, cloud technologies, containerization, data streaming, and Agile methodologies

- Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies and lead in the delivery of the strategic roadmap.

- Help define project scope & specifications, and estimate resources required to develop the proposed solution.

- Ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development teams and monitor timelines & progress.

- Propose technical solutions.

- Delivery of well-designed, high-quality, fully functional, properly tested features, fixes, and enhancements.

- Responsible for the full application development lifecycle and support.

- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.

- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

- Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.

- Provide subject matter expertise and direction, guidance, and support on complex engagements.

7+ years experience with Java 8+

5+ years experience with Spring Boot

4+ years experience with Containers (Docker and orchestration, ie: Kubernetes or EKS)

4+ years experience with Azure or AWS

Strong understanding of microservices and HTTP/REST

4+ years experience with test automation (jbehave, cucumber, selenium, junit)

4+ years experience in an Agile/Scrum team (backlog refinement, standups, code reviews, JIRA or ADO etc.)

2+ years in lead roles

Datadog or New Relic a plus

Elastic Search a plus

Apigee a plus

Java 8+, Spring Boot, Containers, Cloud, Automated testing, Agile, lead roles
