Role: Mainframe IMS Admin
Client: Infosys/Travelers

Detailed JD:
Qualification:
5+ years direct experience installing, configuring, and managing IMS software, IMS application regions, and ISV software.
Preferred 3+ years installing, configuring and managing z/OS Connect regions for both inbound and outbound APIs.
Preferred 2+ years installing, configuring, and managing any of the following:
TPX software and started tasks; EOS software and started tasks; and CA GEN desktop, desktop and server runtimes, host encyclopedia, and z/OS components.
Responsibilities:
1. Working knowledge of SMP/E software installation process, analyzing PTFs and HOLDDATA, triaging HIPER, FIXCAT, and PE d PTFs. Maintaining software currency and semi-annual maintenance migration to development, QA, and production IMS regions.
2. Working knowledge of IMS parameters and internals to optimize functionality and performance as well as to resolve incidents. Work with IBM and ISV providers to provide timely resolution to more complex issues.
3. Understanding of Client s business groups and products as applicable to support the business needs and availability of individual IMS regions.
4. Ability to create new IMS regions, started tasks, and address spaces and to migrate new transaction definitions.
5. Adhere to Client s change management processes regarding change windows, lead times, ServiceNow requests, and temporary access escalation.
6. Consult with business groups and other Technology teams on application development, new feature exploitation, proof of concepts, security enhancements, etc.
7. Attend monthly meetings with IBM and ISV to discuss product roadmaps, incidents, etc.
8. Experience connecting IMS to other technologies such as MQ and DB2.
9. Develop and test solutions for high availability and disaster recovery.
