We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a strong background in data warehousing and ETL development to join our team on a contingent basis. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of complex data solutions using Ab Initio and Teradata technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve moderately complex engineering challenges and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a strong background in data warehousing and ETL development to join our team on a contingent basis. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of complex data solutions using Ab Initio and Teradata technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve moderately complex engineering challenges and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data warehousing applications using Ab Initio and Teradata.
- Participate in planning and execution of software engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Analyze and resolve moderately complex technical issues, including production incidents, with a hands-on approach.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver robust, compliant solutions.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design documentation, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Partner with Quality Assurance teams to ensure software meets quality standards and project timelines.
- Identify and communicate risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities proactively.
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering or equivalent experience through work, consulting, military service, or education.
- Proficiency in Ab Initio (GDE, Conduct>It, Express>It, Continuous>Flows, Metadata Hub, EME, PDL/meta-programming).
- Strong experience with Teradata, PL/SQL, and Unix shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Experience with debugging and resolving production issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in financial services or other data-intensive industries.
- Strong technical skills in data analysis, database design, and ETL development.
- Proven ability to create detailed design documentation (HLD, LLD) and mapping specifications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with modern open-source data technologies is a plus.
