Description
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee various government and commercial contracts within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is a long-term contract position based in Washington, DC, where you will lead cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, financial oversight, and customer engagement, along with the ability to manage technical and operational aspects effectively.
Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of projects to meet client requirements and organizational goals.
Oversee project teams, ensuring tasks are completed according to schedule, scope, and budget.
Act as the main point of contact for customers, addressing concerns and maintaining strong client relationships.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, quality standards, and organizational policies.
Manage cost, schedule, and technical baselines for assigned projects.
Facilitate project initiation activities, including developing plans and budgets.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Conduct project closeout activities, including gathering lessons learned and ensuring proper documentation.
Collaborate with subcontractors, task leaders, and support teams to achieve high-quality outputs.
Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control.
Excellent customer service and communication skills to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.
Knowledge of contract compliance and government or commercial contracts.
Familiarity with system integration or projects involving technical content.
Project management certification, such as PMP or equivalent, is highly recommended.
