Title
Data Architect
The Data Architect will be is responsible for leading the data integration (ETL) development for solutions that deliver diverse reporting and analytic capabilities supporting the operations of Bronson Healthcare Group. Responsible for development & implementation of data integration programs that load, transform and extract data from the data warehouse and other data stores. Assures that architecture and development follow data warehouse best practices. Partners with Report Writers, Application Build Analysts, DBAs, Vendors and all service providers to ensure enterprise data solutions are reliable, scalable, flexible and low maintenance. Evaluates existing technologies, recommends approaches for modernization and creates a data architecture that allows the organization to drive decision making through innovative technologies and self-service business intelligence. This person will work directly with internal stakeholders and IT team members to define, design, and deliver actionable insights while interacting directly with analytics team members in an agile environment. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Database Administration, Information Technology or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and experience with Microsoft SQL Server Tools: SQL 2016, 2008 & 2012, SSIS, SSRS, etc. required
3+ years' experience in Data Warehousing, Database Administration, and/or Business Intelligence related to healthcare administration preferred
Experience with business Intelligence strategies/design as it relates to data architecture preferred
Demonstrated experience with enterprise architecture involving high volume transactional systems, integration, middleware services, application service layers and user experience preferred
Expertise in database and query performance tuning advanced methodologies and techniques preferred
Healthcare experience to demonstrate an understanding of healthcare data and HIPAA and its impact on database design preferred
Certification or progress toward certification completion may be required dependent on an individual's specific position
Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle Administrator Certification preferred
Extensive knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) systems & Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) preferred
Working knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects: BusinessObjects Enterprise (BOE), WebIntelligence, Crystal Reports, etc.
Knowledge and experience in Data Governance & understanding of domain data models and enterprise data models preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of data architecture concepts, logical and physical database modeling, methods, and strategies
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience implementing process improvement using LEAN & PDSA concepts
Ability to create system documentation, project plans, test scripts and education materials.
General familiarity of end user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications in a healthcare delivery environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence people to action without explicit leadership responsibilities
Exceptional customer service skills with superior oral and written communication skills necessary to consult with customers, manage projects, conduct presentations, and tactfully manage sensitive situations
Must be able to interact with end-users to gather the information necessary to identify, address, and document their analytics needs
Must consistently negotiate and act on deliverables and timeframes with stakeholders (end-users, peers, etc.), take ownership of issues, and respond to issues within expected timeframes
Expected to demonstrate informal leadership skills and serve as a role model within the IT organization
Work which produces very high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g. CRT work between 70 and 90 percent of the time, and work involving extremely close tolerances and considerable hand/eye coordination for sustained periods of time. The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.
Ensure the overall design of organization's information architecture and development of the organization's information-sharing strategy. In partnership with business partners, functional leadership, and information technology leaders across the system, this position will determine which data assets should be treated as enterprise information (for example, key data such as Provider, Patient, Claims and locations, and shared business transactions across the Health Care continuum) and share such information via the Data Governance Program structure.
Review business and technical requirements and ensure the data integration platforms align with business need.
Lead design, develop and implement end-to-end ETL process that is operationally stable, efficient and automated
Implement technical solutions that are scalable, aligned with the enterprise architecture and can adapt to changes in business
Implement ETL systems that maximize re-usable components/services, collect/share metadata, incorporate audit, reconciliation and exception handling
Build master indexes for primary content areas: patients, providers, payers, etc.
Work with DBAs, application specialists and technical services to tune performance of the system to meet performance standards and SLAs
Assist in the development, documentation and application of best practices and procedures that govern DW implementations and operations
Participate in research, planning, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, of all ETL processes.
Apply industry best practices for ETL design and development
Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data needs. Evaluate identified areas of improvement for feasibility.
Assist in overseeing administration of Database related systems the Infrastructure and the resources on which they rely on.
Act as a support to developing data governance and master data management program
Implement monitoring and measurement of data quality as defined by business rules
Develop and maintain collegial relationships with all staff as relates to systems in area of responsibility.
Participates in efforts to resolve or ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
Conduct System Testing including execute job flows, investigate system defects, resolve defects and document results
Serves as multiple subject matter expert and mentor for other team members.
Collaborates with the IT Manager in aligning goals, objectives, and work plans for the delivery of timely and quality IT services
Communicates and consults with information technology personnel and advisory groups on best practice and standards.
Builds trust and develops effective working relationships between Core technology team and constituencies ensuring timely and quality IT
Provides on-call support for production environments on a shared rotation
