Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified Sustainment Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical expertise and strategic advisory support in the sustainment, maintenance, and life cycle management of Department of Defense (DoD) systems. The SME will serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders, ensuring systems remain operationally effective, affordable, and compliant with mission and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Skills / Experience Required
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- 10+ years of progressive experience in sustainment, lifecycle support, or logistics in a DoD environment
- Demonstrated expertise in PRISM sustainment processes, planning, and reporting
- Experience in sustainment support for classified and unclassified systems across joint operations
- Strong understanding of DoD acquisition lifecycle (DAS, JCIDS, PPBE) and sustainment integration
- Knowledge of DoD maintenance, supply chain, readiness reporting, and configuration management
- Experience with performance metrics, sustainment modeling, and reliability/maintainability analysis
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in sustainment, maintenance, and lifecycle management for DoD systems
- Support PRISM sustainment initiatives including planning, execution, and performance analysis
- Ensure systems meet operational availability and readiness requirements through proactive sustainment planning
- Develop and implement sustainment strategies to optimize system reliability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness
- Provide recommendations for upgrades, modernization, and technology refresh within lifecycle support
- Support logistics planning, technical documentation, and sustainment readiness reporting
- Ensure compliance with DoD, DISA, and Joint Staff sustainment policies, directives, and standards
- Proven ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, program managers, and logistics specialists
- Interface with DoD stakeholders, acquisition offices, and contractors to align sustainment solutions with mission objectives
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to brief senior leadership and stakeholders
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Political Science, Human Resources, or related discipline)
- Graduate degree preferred in a relevant area of study
- Professional license or certification (as applicable) to the relevant field of study preferred
- Defense Acquisition University (DAU) or DoD training/certifications in the relevant functional area strongly desired
- Professional Military Education (PME) or equivalent leadership development training (preferred)
