Supply Chain Analyst
Introduction
The Supply Chain Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing and optimizing supply chain operations. They are responsible for data analysis, demand planning, inventory management, logistics support, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination. This position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to identify trends and improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
Responsibilities
1. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze supply chain data (inventory levels, lead times, order accuracy, demand patterns, etc.).
- Develop dashboards and reports using Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau.
- Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
2. Demand & Supply Planning
- Support demand forecasting using statistical models.
- Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Procurement teams to align supply with demand.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and recommend adjustments.
3. Inventory Management
- Track inventory KPIs: turns, aging, stockouts, excess & obsolete (E&O).
- Recommend safety stock levels and replenishment strategies.
- Optimize inventory across multiple locations or warehouses.
4. Logistics & Operations Support
- Analyze freight costs, carrier performance, and warehouse efficiency.
- Support routing, scheduling, and distribution improvements.
- Assist with vendor performance evaluations.
5. Process Improvement
- Map and optimize supply chain processes (S&OP, procurement workflow, order-to-delivery).
- Implement lean practices and automation opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Communicate insights to stakeholders (operations, finance, procurement, logistics).
- Assist in resolving supply issues and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Participate in system implementation or ERP enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, or data analysis (entry-level also acceptable depending on role).
- Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), SQL, and BI tools.
- Understanding of forecasting, procurement, inventory control, and logistics concepts.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
