Work Location: This position will be based in the Sedalia, MO location.

Hours: M-F 8am-5pm, including on-call rotation

Reports To: IT Support Manager

Job Purpose: Responsible for devising or modifying procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with answering all Helpdesk calls and Helpdesk requests in a timely fashion; ensuring a callback on all calls regardless of outcome.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call after hours Helpdesk operator call rotation schedule.
  • Assist the Chief Technology Officer with maintaining Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Terminal Services
  • Assist the Chief Technology Officer in the installation of all PC hardware, operating systems, and application software.
  • At the direction of the Chief Technology Officer, recognize break/fix resolutions and assign to the appropriate individuals.
  • Maintain an inventory database of all information technology equipment and software.
  • Maintain, encourage, and enforce company policy and information technology security policy as directed by the Chief Technology Officer.
  • Communicate with the Chief Technology Officer regarding known, newly discovered, and past issues to facilitate the growth of the IT knowledge base.
  • Maintain and develop ongoing documentation detailing recurring procedures, broken/fixed resolutions, and project documentation as assigned.
  • At the direction of the Chief Technology Officer maintain and secure all current operating systems on servers and workstations. This includes researching and applying software updates, service packs, BIOS upgrades, hardware upgrades, and Network OS upgrades as assigned.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and deploying maintenance tracking and update schedules.
  • At the direction of the Chief Technology Officer, track, test and apply application updates as necessary.
  • Travel to offsite locations for onsite Network maintenance.
  • Utilize network monitoring stations to develop a proactive response to LAN/WAN outages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • College graduate in computer science, related field, or technical equivalent.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11 Workstations and Windows Servers
  • Experience with implementation of industry standards such as CIS/NIST preferred.
  • Knowledge of batch and script writing preferred

Working Conditions:
  • This job operates in a normal office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The IT Specialist will do some lifting of computer equipment, supplies and materials from time to time and may work in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
