Job Title: Workload Automation Scheduler

Location: Boston, MA 02199
Schedule: Hybrid Onsite 3 Days/Week (Tuesday Thursday)
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Interview Process: 2 Rounds Phone (30 min) + Onsite (2 hrs.)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Workload Automation Scheduler to join our clients team in Boston, MA.
This mid-level role is ideal for someone with 3 5 years of experience designing, creating, and managing automated job schedules.
You will ensure efficient execution of business and IT processes by developing, maintaining, and optimizing workload automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and create automated jobs and workflows using IBM Workload Scheduler, Control-M, AutoSys, or similar tools.

Develop and maintain job schedules to ensure timely execution of IT and business tasks.

Troubleshoot and resolve job failures or scheduling conflicts promptly.

Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and business teams to gather automation requirements.

Document job definitions, dependencies, and recovery procedures.

Implement updates and changes following change-management practices.

Optimize job schedules for improved performance and reliability.

Participate in disaster-recovery testing for critical workloads.

Ensure compliance with security, audit, and operational standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

3 5 years of hands-on experience with workload automation or job scheduling tools such as IBM Workload Scheduler, Control-M, or AutoSys.

Solid understanding of Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems.

Experience with scripting languages (Shell, PowerShell, or Python).

Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

High attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in IT operations, system administration, or DevOps.

Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.

Exposure to cloud-based automation environments.

Certifications in workload automation or IT service management.

Work Environment:

Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite in Boston).

May require occasional on-call or after-hours support.

Collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting enterprise-level automation initiatives.
