Telecommuting:

For resources that do not reside within the Tallahassee area, 100% remote work is authorized. Selected candidate would be required to be onsite to onboard for a short period. The Department does not cover expenses (travel, food, etc.) related to onsite onboarding. Resources that reside within the Tallahassee area must work in the office Monday through Friday.

Work Hours

Flexibility to work hours between 7:00 AM & 7:00 PM and/or Saturdays, either on a rotation or as part of a regular and on-call work schedule.

PrimaryJob Duties/ Tasks

The submittedcandidate must be able to perform the following dutiesand/or tasks:

1. Work as a developer and subject matterexpert for applications dealing with complexfinancial business processeson large cross-functional application projects, ensuringthat robust and scalable solutionsare implemented.
2. Provide guidance and oversight to quality assurance on all new code from inception throughintegration, staging and production environments.
3. Provide hands-on supportto peers and mentor others.
4. Identify,analyze and resolve

problems and issues using troubleshooting tools and techniques as well as teamwork.

1. Work with team toward continuous improvement; may includedesign, definition of roadmaps, standardization of processes and methodologies; collaborate with other developers and architects to drive guidelines, methodologies, and documentation.
2. Work in partnership with distributed cross-functional teams to ensure all aspectsof the project is communicated, supported and deliveredto the highest standards.

Develop and apply knowledge of trends, relevantsoftware development technologies and methodologies.
Skills : Candidate must have a minimum of 7+ years as a lead developer or development manager2. 5+ years of broad experience workingwith development technologies including COBOL, CAGen, Classic ASP, DB2 for z/OS or Oracle databasesor similar relational databases.
JobSpecific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

The submitted candidatemust be able to apply common knowledge, skills, and abilities in the followingareas:

1. Knowledge of terminology and concepts of DB2 for z/OS or Oracle databasesor similar relational databases, including SQL proficiency;
2. Proficient with Computer Associates CA Gen workstation toolset for web server, onlineand batch procedures;
3. Knowledge of Computer Associates CA Gen Com Proxy service and COBOL
4. Knowledge of Active ServerPages (Classic ASP) web page development languages VB and J-script;
5. Knowledge of IBM Z-Server,CICS, JCL, and COBOL
6. Knowledge of Microsoft VisualStudio/.Net preferred;
7. Experience with development and maintenance of Software systemsdealing with complexfinancial business processes;
8. Skilled in verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service;
9. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment;
10. Ability to balance multipledemands and work both independently and as part of a team;
11. Ability to conduct complexsystems analysis and translate user requirements into business solutions;
12. Ability to integrate researchand best practicesinto problem avoidance and continuous improvement;
13. Ability to effectively communicate and lead development teams;
