Job Description

Our customer is hiring a senior SAP Procure-to-Pay functional configuration analyst who's knowledgeable in Procurement and GTS (Global Trade Services). The candidate will not only configure and support SAP, but more importantly he or she will drive process improvements and automation. This role is designed to go full-time after a 3 to 6 month contract period - customer is NOT looking for a temporary consultant. The right candidate must be able to help the business optimize SAP, bring innovations and solutions to them so that they can become more efficient, and create more velocity. The candidate will need previous experience with transformation projects and be able to bring best practices within the PTP and GTS spaces. This role requires a deep understanding of procurement processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions that drive business value. The candidate can work from home anywhere in the U.S., but must work Mountain time zone hours. The Functional SAP team consists of 6 analysts covering: Finance, Sales & Distribution, Procurement, Vendor Invoice Management, Project Systems, and Timekeeping.
Upcoming projects beginning in January include upgrading S/4 from 2021 to 2023 or 2025; and upgrading GTS from 11.0 to GTS edition for HANA. On the Procurement side, customer does NOT build physical products so they don't buy direct materials and don't have MRP that's generating procurement requests. It's all Indirect Procurement (Services, IT, Facilities, etc.).
They don't use the MM or PP modules and don't have any physical inventory. GTS is utilized for Sales and Procurement, but they only use the Compliance module (to track denied party screening, embargoed countries, and track licenses through GTS).
GTS is relied on heavily for the ordering side of the business. Required Skills:
1) 10+ years of configuration experience in Procure-to-Pay workstream of SAP (Procurement, Finance, Material Management, etc.)
2) Solid knowledge of SAP GTS (Global Trade Services)
3) Must be able to work with the business, understand their challenges and bring best practices and innovations to them to help with transformations and optimizing their business process. Experience with OpenText (used for vendor invoice management in the P2P process) and Vertex (for sales & use tax) would be helpful. Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with business stakeholders and process owners to analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP functional design documents.
Stay up to date on SAP S/4HANA new features and innovations.
Bring solutions to stakeholders to improve processes, increase efficiency, and improve data accuracy.
Perform system configuration to meet business requirements.
Conduct functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and support system integration testing (SIT).
Provide expertise in SAP S/4HANA procurement processes including procurement of services, materials management, supplier relationship management, and sourcing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and process improvements.
Support data migration, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions for end-users.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations and functional specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and provide ongoing functional support.
