Position Overview: The Ellucian - Colleague Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of Ellucian's Colleague software suite within higher education institutions. This role involves managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial planning and requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and deployment. The Project Manager will work closely with clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, business analysts, and quality assurance testers, to execute project tasks and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying risks and issues, and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide status updates, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, user acceptance testing, and training sessions for clients.
- Manage project budgets, expenses, and resource utilization to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
- Prepare and deliver project documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes, and post-implementation reviews.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and product updates related to Ellucian's Colleague software suite.
- Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the project management team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field.
- Proven experience managing software implementation projects, preferably in the higher education sector.
- Familiarity with Ellucian's Colleague software suite and its modules (e.g., Student, Finance, HR).
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose solutions.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
