Job Description

• The Client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Python Developer with over 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-grade applications, particularly within the finance and trading domains. This role requires deep expertise in Python, data engineering, cloud-native solutions, and backend API development, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Python Developer with 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-grade applications across the finance sector, with expertise in Python, PySpark, FastAPI, Pandas, Polars, and Spring Boot to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions
• Experience in quantitative engineering for interest rate derivatives within a SWAP QE environment Knowledge of big data processing and analytics, leveraging Apache Spark, Databricks, and AWS Glue to handle large-scale data pipelines, with hands-on experience in ETL processes, financial risk modeling, predictive analytics, and machine learning to drive data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency for high-volume transactional applications.
• Strong background in cloud computing and DevOps, proficient in AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform for infrastructure automation, microservices orchestration, and CI/CD deployment pipelines, with expertise in serverless computing, API gateway management, and security best practices to ensure reliable, cost-efficient cloud-native solutions.
• Understands backend development and API-driven architectures, designing and implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs using FastAPI, Flask, and Django, with hands-on experience in microservices, event-driven architectures using Kafka and RabbitMQ, and database optimization with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Oracle, and PL/SQL for high-performance applications.
• Must be able to demonstrate working in Agile methodologies with cross-functional collaboration, leading teams through Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks, with expertise in code quality assurance, test-driven development using PyTest and Selenium, peer reviews, and continuous integration strategies to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable software aligned with industry best practices.
• Proficient in web scraping, data engineering, and automation, utilizing Selenium, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, and Requests to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources, with expertise in scheduling jobs using Apache Airflow, optimizing data workflows, and integrating AI/ML models for intelligent data processing and business insights.
