Appian Developer Lead Full Stack Specialist

Location: Onsite in McLean, VA (Preference for candidates in DC/MD/VA)

Assignment Type: 3-month contract-to-hire

Must-Have Qualifications

10+ years leading development teams

7+ years of Appian expertise (design, development, configuration, infrastructure)

5+ years of Core Java development, including Java plugin development for Appian

5+ years of experience with modern deployment methodologies (automated pipelines, Atlassian tools)

5+ years working with databases and APIs, integrating with Active Directory, Ping, Snowflake, Dremio, and internal platforms

3+ years of experience in application architecture, network, and security recommendations

3+ years of development in Angular, JavaScript, Ansible

Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS or Appian Cloud

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Strong collaboration skills and mentoring of junior developers

Role Overview

As an Appian Developer Lead, you will spearhead BPM projects, manage a team of seven developers, and ensure seamless enterprise integrations.

You will work closely with architects to refine BPM solutions and conduct training for business users. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading BPM implementation efforts and championing best practices
  • Designing and developing enterprise integrations with various platforms
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior developers
  • Developing Java-based Appian plugins
  • Conducting technical assessments and design reviews
