Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Network Operations to lead and oversee enterprise-wide data and voice network operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and service levels across a complex IT environment.

This role is responsible for managing the Network Operations Center (NOC), developing and enforcing operational standards, supporting new technologies (including wireless), and ensuring the reliability of LAN/WAN, voice, and multi-platform network systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational discipline and experience managing technical teams in mission-critical environments.


Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Service Management

  • Own network operations and service levels for data and voice networking equipment and software

  • Oversee operations supporting LAN/WAN, PBX, mainframe, mid-range, and network processing systems

  • Define, negotiate, and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

  • Monitor and improve network performance, reliability, and availability

Leadership & Operations Oversight

  • Manage and coordinate daily activities of the Network Operations Center (NOC)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, project leaders, and technical staff

  • Plan and manage staffing, schedules, and operational coverage

  • Work under general direction of senior IT leadership

Standards, Processes & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop, implement, and maintain network operations standards, procedures, and processes

  • Ensure consistent execution of operational best practices

  • Drive continuous improvement across network operations

Technology Planning & Implementation

  • Plan and manage support for new and emerging technologies, including wireless solutions

  • Partner with engineering and architecture teams on technology rollouts

  • Ensure operational readiness for new systems and platforms

Infrastructure & Capacity Planning

  • Plan for human resources, equipment, power, cabling, and facilities supporting telecommunications and IT processing equipment

  • Support capacity planning to meet current and future demand

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with IT leadership, vendors, and service providers

  • Provide operational reporting, metrics, and executive updates

  • Escalate and resolve high-impact operational issues as needed


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field,
    or equivalent professional experience

  • 7+ years of IT experience, including managing teams responsible for:

    • Network operations

    • Technical service, support, and maintenance

  • Proven experience in LAN/WAN and multi-platform environments

  • Strong background in network operations, reliability, and service delivery

  • Experience managing technical teams in enterprise or regulated environments

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing Network Operations Centers (NOC)

  • Experience supporting voice and data networks, including PBX systems

  • Background in wireless networking technologies

  • Experience with service level management and operational reporting

  • Familiarity with IT operations governance and compliance

  • Experience working in large-scale or public-sector IT environments
