Overview

Mako's Utilities client is seeking an Infrastructure Automation / SRE Engineer to drive automation-first infrastructure transformation. This role will focus on replacing manual infrastructure operations with code-driven, repeatable, and reliable automation across cloud and hybrid environments, with a strong emphasis on Azure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions across compute, network, and cloud

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and configuration

  • Automate provisioning, configuration management, and routine operational tasks

  • Support Azure-based infrastructure engineering and modernization initiatives

  • Improve reliability through monitoring, automation, and proactive remediation

  • Partner with ServiceNow and observability teams to integrate automation into operations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform required; Puppet or Chef preferred)

  • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery

  • Azure cloud engineering experience in enterprise environments

  • SRE mindset focused on reliability, automation, and operational maturity

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting utilities or regulated infrastructure environments

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, monitoring, or automated remediation workflows

  • Exposure to OT or hybrid IT/OT environments
