Visual C++ Developer

Location: Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA (Onsite all 5 days a week)

Duration: 6+ months contract

Must be local to Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA area

Job Description:

Mandatory Requirements

  • Visual C++ on Windows platform: Minimum 5+ years of recent or current experience must be clearly listed on the resume.
  • Unit Testing Expertise: Hands-on experience with frameworks like Google Test or CppUnit is essential.
  • Focused Skillset: Candidates must demonstrate deep specialization in Visual C++ not just as part of a broader tech stack.

Testing & Quality Engineering

  • Strong test-first mindset and experience with test automation tools (e.g., Cucumber, Behave, Gherkin).
  • Ability to design testable code, participate in design/code reviews, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Technical Skills

  • Modern C++ (C++11 and above) and Python (3+ years).
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, networking (TCP/IP, socket-level), and debugging complex systems.
  • Experience with Agile development, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), and secure development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Retail/Convenience Store industry, Point of Sale systems, and Payment Processors.
  • Familiarity with Java, .NET, Cloud development, PCI compliance, and high-volume, high-availability systems.

Soft Skills & Responsibilities

  • Strong communication skills able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to mentor peers, estimate efforts, and own solutions from design to delivery.
