Job Description

Please note that this position is intended to focus primarily on projects featuring technical specifications, bid phases, and post-order documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific duties of an Application's Engineer are as follows:
  • Timely and accurate technical and commercial support for sales channel partners and end-user clients
  • Review quote requests from representatives and customers based on the information provided
  • Provide custom solutions for engineered equipment and establish pricing for non-standard items when necessary
  • Review incoming orders and provide technical review, as required, to scope orders for engineering and production. This is accomplished by the thorough review of all submitted material, verifying pricing for custom items, compliance to purchase order terms, conditions, and specifications, etc.
  • Work with all other departments to improve the overall understanding of the business and achieve company goals
  • Assist with marketing projects necessary to maintain a competitive product offering. These can include price rationalization, sales tools updates, generation of product literature, etc.
  • Present technical trainings and presentations to representatives and customers. Attend customer meetings as appropriate with the representative and the Regional Sales Manager to provide technical support
  • Provide technical support to the international divisions, as necessary
  • Domestic travel may be required

KEY SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Oral and written communication
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic mechanical design and fluid-flow engineering
  • A keen interest in sales
  • Multitasking tasks and projects with short and long timelines
  • Strong presentation skills are a plus

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical background to understand principles of mechanical rotating equipment, and fluid flow
  • Must have the technical background required to possess an in-depth understanding of company product offerings and applicability in a wide variety of markets
  • The ability to work effectively with customers and provide customer satisfaction is absolutely essential
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering strongly preferred however, 10+ years of related experience will be considered
  • An understanding of technical writing, and project life cycles
  • Must be able to work on-site five days a week
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience is preferred
