Typical Day in the Role

  • Purpose of the Team: The Power Electronics & Test Validation team is looking for an Electrical Engineer specifically with Power Electronics for EV and renewable energy expertise.
    Candidate Requirements
    Years of Experience Required: 5 overall years of experience in the field.
    Degrees or certifications required: M. S degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field preferred.
    Disqualifiers: N/A
    Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain all preferred skills.
    Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines and quality of work.

    Responsibilities and qualifications
    Strong understanding of power electronics topologies and control.
    Review schematic, PCB designs, calculation and simulation of power electronics converters.
    Conduct the verification and validation tests for power electronics systems, ensuring compliance with industry and requirements.
    Strong hands-on and trouble-shooting skills in testing and verifications of power electronics systems, including the use of lab equipment (battery simulators, power supplies, E-loads, scope, etc.).
    Capability to analysis the root-cause of the power electronics system and drive R&D activities independently.
    Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.

Preferred qualifications
M. S degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in power electronics development and testing.
Solid understanding power electronics fundamentals.
Knowledge of automotive requirements.

The national base pay range below is a good-faith estimate of what our client may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Client's assessment of the candidates knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $130,000 - $139,000
