Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Database Architect with advanced expertise in enterprise database platforms and BMC TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA) to lead technical design, optimization, and integration of database automation solutions for a mission-critical U.S. Coast Guard program. This position will be located in Kearneysville, WV and will be a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design and implementation of advanced database architectures integrated with BMC TSSA to support enterprise automation initiatives.
  • Lead complex database platform upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization efforts across multi-platform environments.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for critical database and TSSA-related issues impacting availability and compliance.
  • Develop sophisticated automation frameworks using TSSA, NSH, PowerShell, Python, and Bash to streamline database patching, compliance audits, and remediation.
  • Oversee enterprise patch management strategies for Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL systems using TSSA, ensuring alignment with DoD and USCG security standards.
  • Integrate database automation into TSSA-based workflows, DevOps pipelines, and CI/CD processes to accelerate modernization and deployment cycles.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align database architecture and TSSA automation solutions with organizational objectives and security mandates.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database architecture, TSSA configurations, operational procedures, and automation standards.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field with 12+ years (or equivalent expertise ).

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance
  • Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA +)
  • Database Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), including design, implementation, and administration
  • BMC TSSA Expertise: 5 + years of experience integrating and automating database operations using BMC TrueSight Server Automation
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, NSH, Python, PowerShell, and Bash for automation and customization
  • Patch Management: Extensive experience in database patching and compliance enforcement using TSSA
  • Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
  • Troubleshooting: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving complex technical issues


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting DoD or U.S. Coast Guard environments
  • Cloud Experience: Familiarity with AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL
  • DevOps and CI/CD: Understanding of DevOps principles and experience integrating databases and TSSA automation into CI/CD pipelines
  • Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database Specialty
