Role: Lead AIX/UNIX Systems Administrator
Location: Remote

Project description
The primary goal of the project is patching and upgrade efforts for over 200+ systems for a big US-based retail company, serving millions of omnichannel customers each week.
Responsibilities
  • We are looking for experienced AIX Systems Administrators to lead patching and upgrade efforts for over 200+ systems.
  • Responsibilities for AIX:
  • Patch and Upgrade UNIX operating systems and system software, and provide hardware, backup and recovery, and system monitoring
  • Candidate must be able to work independently with a group
  • Test Patching and Upgrades in the lab environments before Production to ensure systems meet the application teams requirements for performance, resiliency, security, and manageability
  • Work with project management resources in providing detailed server information before and after patching/upgrades to meet project deliverables.
Skills
Must have
  • Shell scripting experience including ksh and bash
  • Candidate must have knowledge and experience in using virtualized PowerVM technology
  • Candidate must have knowledge and experience using NIM (Network Installation Management) server technology
  • Candidate should be familiar with utilizing alt disks cloning within the AIX OS
  • Candidate should be familiar and have some experience with Shared Storage Pools, VSCSI, NPIV, HMC, and LPM
  • Candidate should have a deep understanding of Unix concepts, bachelor's degree, and at least 5 years of experience in AIX
  • Candidate should be familiar with HPE Storage solutions
