Credence has an immediate need for an Agile Coach. This position is in the Acquisition Management Directorate (AMD) of the Defense Integrated Business Systems (DIBS) PMO office. DIBS is accountable for standardizing, streamlining and sharing critical data across the Army, Department of Defense (DOD) and industry partners. Our team of professionals procures and delivers the best management capabilities to our Soldiers and end users.

  • VISION Establish DIBS as the prominent Agile acquisition leader for the development and improvement of business systems at the speed of relevance in support of the Army's mission within multi-domain operations.

Responsible for coaching teams who are new to Agility, foster an Agile mindset, and stand up/train teams on the appropriate framework that is optimal for delivering value. Goals are to realign the way teams work, increase organizational agility for innovation, and establish Agile best practices at the team level that can scale as needed to implement a cloud-based technology solution.

This position may require in-person attendance at a government facility and therefore requires selected person to live within commuting distance of the National Capital Region (NCR).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • Champion Agile approaches, drive awareness of the Agile Transformation, and gain stakeholder buy-in to expand adoption and support Agile approaches
  • Coach team to assess, measure, document, and communicate progress against defined Agile transformation goals and assist team in resolving any issues
  • Assist in the identifying and capturing lessons learned and best practices
  • Provide coaching to the roles: Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, Product Owners, Product Managers (at program level)
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions on Agile best practices to the PMO as needed and requested.
  • Recommend, develop, track, and monitor Agile metrics on areas that affect value-driven delivery and indicate potential problems, and assist teams in implementing solutions to remediate those problems
  • Have a relentless commitment to implementing Agile leading practices and coaching teams to consistently deliver value to key stakeholders/market
  • Advise and assist in developing and maintaining PMO SharePoint/Teams/Confluence/Jira/ADO/SAFe sites and/or standup/participation in a Community of Practice (
  • Create training materials and participate in the onboarding education in SAFe and provide re training
  • Provide coaching during agile ceremonies and events to include PI preparation, PI Planning, etc.
  • Have a thorough understanding of industry metrics and recommend agile tools to assist in the tailoring of those metrics to PM DIBS needs


Education, Requirements and Qualifications

  • Must posses an active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree or 2 additional years of hands-on experience
  • 3 years of experience with Agile practices including establishing Scrum and Kanban frameworks at the team level, training teams on Agile foundations; the Scrum framework to include roles, responsibilities, and events; Kanban/lean practices to include Work In Progress (WIP) limits and "walking the board" 2 years of Agile coaching experience
  • Direct experience in one or more roles: Product Owner, Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master
  • Demonstrated ability to work with geographically dispersed and/or virtual teams
  • Demonstrable understanding of key agile frameworks/tools (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, story-mapping, product canvas, etc.)
  • Experience in establishing Kanban framework at the program level
  • Experience in scaling Agile teams using a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) implementation
  • Proficiency with multiple team collaboration and ideation tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Easy Agile, and Jira)
  • Experience working with senior management and leadership team, including Program Managers, Division Directors, Product Managers and Product Owners
  • Ability to authentically establish credibility, build consensus, and activate collaboration with peers and stakeholders
  • Experience on medium to large software development programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical, operational, and management audiences with broad and varied backgrounds.

Required Certifications:
  • Agile Coaching Certification: ICP-ACC (Agile Certified Coach) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
  • Scrum Master Certification: CSP (Certified Scrum Practitioner - higher level), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), or PSM I (Professional Scrum Master I)
  • SAFe Agilist 5.0 or 5.1 (SA) certification
  • (optional) SAFe for Government certification
  • (optional) PMI-ACP (Project Management Institute)
