Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team as a contingent resource. In this role, you will lead and contribute to complex, large-scale software engineering initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure software systems.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical challenges involving multiple systems and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests using JUnit to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Apply secure coding practices to mitigate risks such as cross-site scripting (XSS), SQL injection, and parameter tampering.
- Contribute to performance testing and optimization efforts using tools like JMeter and Locust.
- Provide technical mentorship and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or equivalent experience through work, consulting, military service, or education.
- Proficiency in Java 17 and the Spring ecosystem.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Kafka, and Postman.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies, particularly the React framework.
- Experience with Apache POI for Excel generation and iText for PDF generation.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, including version control, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Python Locust.
- Demonstrated ability to work on large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
