This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, and Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As a member of a unique and highly-skilled team, you will conduct environmental testing on flight hardware. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate directly with a small and diverse team, operating and maintaining environmental test equipment while performing development, qualification, and acceptance testing on flight hardware.

Responsibilities include:
  • Perform hands-on shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, and vacuum testing on flight hardware in accordance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016, and MIL-STD-1540
  • Operate test consoles and work alongside engineers and technicians to execute component-level testing
  • Ensure all operations are conducted safely, on schedule, and to the highest professional standards
  • Work with test, flight, and safety-critical hardware, as well as tools and shop equipment
  • Set up and safely operate high-energy systems (e.g., high-pressure gases, cryogenics, and electrical systems)
  • Operate and maintain environmental test equipment, including data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, vibration systems, and instrumentation
  • Manage and/or oversee multiple test projects simultaneously to support operational schedules
  • Configure test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation per test plans and standards
  • Review test documentation to ensure test readiness
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of test equipment and the test lab
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks concerning cost, schedule, and technical challenges
  • Participate in Process/Job Hazard Assessments and Test Readiness Reviews


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with substantial hands-on expertise in shock and vibration testing
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing off-nominal vibration scenarios
  • B.S. degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering data, drawings, standards, and technical requirements
  • Demonstrated strong safety awareness, including hands-on experience planning and performing hazardous or critical operations
  • Willingness to work weekend shifts or overtime as required by specific tasks or test series
  • Position level will reflect candidate's experience
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in test stand operations, major system operations, or with similar test equipment (such as vibration tables)
  • Background in production and/or test system environments
  • Hands-on experience in test, production facility, factory, or laboratory settings
  • Demonstrated quick-thinking and problem-solving skills in critical situations
  • Experience with assembly and testing of aerospace structural, mechanical, or propulsion systems
  • Proficiency in using test instrumentation and control components, including pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, load cells, relays, solenoid valves, etc.
  • Direct experience working with high-energy systems (e.g., 6,000 psi pressure, high voltage, cryogenics)
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW/TestStand
  • Experience with CREO, MATLAB, and ANSYS


Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $117,498.00-$164,497.20
