Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Atlassian Architect / Jira & Confluence Administrator to lead platform administration and modernization for regulated Aerospace & Defense programs. The role focuses on secure, compliant delivery of Jira, Confluence, and adjacent DevOps tooling across onprem and cloud (AWS/Azure) environments. The ideal contractor has handson experience aligning Atlassian implementations with FedRAMP baselines and NIST 80053/800171 controls.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, administer, and optimize Jira, Confluence, and related Atlassian ecosystem .

  • Design and maintain workflows, schemes, fields, permissions, notifications, and project templates for Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban).

  • Own Jira Service Management configuration (request types, SLAs, queues, approvals, KB) aligned to NIST 800171 SSPs and policy.

  • Implement and document audit trails, log retention, and evidence collection aligned to NIST 80053 Rev. 5 and FedRAMP baselines.

  • Lead/execute Data Center Cloud migration for Jira/Confluence, including test plans, data transforms, marketplace apps, and cutover.

  • Integrate Atlassian with SSO (SAML/OIDC), LDAP/AD, and rolebased access control.

  • Build CI/CD automations and standardize promotion/change workflows.

  • Script and automate admin tasks

  • Operate in hybrid AWS/Azure environments

  • Partner with Security/Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, and Program teams to ensure traceability from control to evidence to artifact.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years administering/architecting Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) at scale in a regulated or federal environment.

  • Proven migration experience (planning, data migration, app rationalization, cutover, validation).

  • Jira Service Management expertise

  • SSO/Identity experience.

  • Scripting proficiency

  • Excellent documentation, stakeholder communication, and crossteam facilitation.

  • U.S. Citizen (required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Atlassian Certifications

  • Experience with Jira Align

  • Prior work in Aerospace & Defense or with U.S. federal agencies.
