Description: Our client is currently seeking a Program Manager 2
[Schedule: San Bruno, CA Hybrid (T-TH. Onsite M-F remote)

As a Technical Program Manager, you will establish processes to transform domain impact, measurably increase program maturity to decrease resource pressures, proactively drive cross-functional alignment and prioritization with YouTube teams, and organize overall workstreams for the domain(s) you cover.

This will require you to collaborate with many cross functional partners including other Operations teams, Business Development, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Go-To-Market, and Support, to drive and execute programs and solve complex operational challenges.

In this role, you will be highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, diligently planning roadmaps and tracking progress of key milestones, and will drive launches of new features and initiatives requiring cross-functional resources.

As a trusted steward of Team OKRs, you will also drive and influence overall performance within the team to deliver excellent outcomes.

The most successful candidate will be comfortable in organizing chaos and ambiguity -- anticipating roadblocks well in advance, keeping programs on course by chasing action items and dependencies, setting strategic direction of the program and highly effective in communicating program status to executives and cross-functional teams.

The working environment at YouTube is fast-paced and requires a candidate who is flexible, thrives in ambiguity, and can effectively influence and drive results across multiple teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Set and meet launch and quality milestones for highly complex programs
  • Independently manage existing and new cross-functional programs through their full lifecycle to meet team-level objectives
  • Coordinate upcoming features to launch smoothly and on-time with cross functional internal partners
  • Evaluate progress and communicate program status, risks, and next steps to internal stakeholder teams and executive sponsors
  • Establish, scale, and continuously and measurably improve processes, tools and documentation to ensure efficient cross-functional collaboration and to meet growing and/or changing needs. Assess gaps, pinpoint inefficiencies, and drive process optimization.

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Program Management experience driving cross-functional projects. Strong experience with software development and leading cross-functional programs with both business and tech/engineering teams. Experience in building and working within media content platforms, including (but not limited to) TV distribution platforms.

Desired Comfortable with ambiguity, with the ability to identify opportunity areas then prioritize by leveraging input from cross-functional teams. Experience in building and working within data platforms, including (but not limited to) viewership data and ratings agencies, such as Nielsen and Billboard. Experience using SQL and building data visualization (e.g. dashboards). Experience driving cross-functional teams of diverse technical backgrounds (e.g., engineering, product, marketing, sales, policy) towards bold, data-driven goals. Demonstrated capability of self-initiative, leadership roles, breakthrough thinking, and leading and influencing in dynamic environments. Meticulous organizational, negotiation, multi-tasking, project management and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to convey information in a timely, concise manner. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Strong mindset for continuous improvement and ability to switch between big picture breadth and attention to detail depth. Distinctive problem solving skills and impeccable business judgment. Excellent EQ and humility. Model self-awareness and accountability in personal interactions, objective and nonpolitical approach to working with people, influencing without direct authority and getting things done in a way that fosters engagement and collaboration Comfortable challenging the status quo, championing bold innovative ideas. Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to recognizing needs, solving problems, anticipating issues and articulating solutions
