Role: Point of Sale (POS) Technical SME Onsite Role
Location: Onsite United States [Washington DC Metro Area]
Job Type: 6 months
$80/ hr on 1099
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Point of Sale (POS) Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support and enhance clients POS infrastructure. This role demands strong onsite presence and hands-on expertise in POS systems, vulnerability remediation, scripting, and client-specific security protocols. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in supporting Scout ISP, deploying remediations, and maintaining compliance with clients security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the onsite technical SME for POS systems, primarily supporting client environments.
- Lead and execute vulnerability remediation efforts across POS platforms, ensuring alignment with client security protocols.
- Collaborate with clients security teams to assess, report, and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Support and maintain Scout ISP integration and ensure seamless data flow and compliance.
- Develop and deploy PowerShell scripts and other automation tools to support remediation and system health.
- Utilize BigFix for patch management, compliance reporting, and remediation deployment.
- Provide technical support and configuration expertise for Shiji, Oracle Simphony, and other POS systems.
- Document technical procedures, remediation actions, and system configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex POS issues in real-time, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Participate in audits and ensure systems meet clients security and operational standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a POS Technical SME in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Shiji, Oracle Simphony, and other major POS platforms.
- Deep understanding of security protocols, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation for system administration and remediation.
- Experience with BigFix for endpoint management and patch deployment.
- Familiarity with Scout ISP and its role in POS infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in cybersecurity, POS systems, or scripting languages.
- Experience in hospitality or retail environments. Expertise for Shiji, Oracle Simphony, and other POS systems.
- Knowledge of PCI compliance and data protection standards.
