Job Summary


The Director of Technology and Procurement is responsible for leading the strategic oversight and operational management of IT operations, procurement governance, and policy development. This role combines technical expertise with procurement acumen to optimize technology acquisition, ensure compliance with procurement policies, and drive operational efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including infrastructure, systems, and service delivery
  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Manage IT budget, resources, and vendor relationships
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems and services
  • Lead IT security initiatives and risk management programs
  • Oversee IT service desk and end-user support operations

Procurement Governance

  • Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Oversee technology procurement processes from requisition to contract management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and procurement optimization strategies

Policy Management

  • Develop, review, and update IT and procurement policies
  • Ensure alignment of policies with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate policy changes and ensure organization-wide compliance
  • Establish governance frameworks for technology investments
  • Monitor and report on policy adherence and effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in IT management and procurement
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and operations
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement governance and contract management
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills

Preferred Skills

  • Professional certifications (ITIL, PMP, CIPS, or similar)
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software
  • Financial management and budgeting experience
  • Change management experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
