Job Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary
This position is for an R&D Optical Scientist with a practical engineering background. This person will be engaged in activities related to the design, analysis, and testing of optically based advanced metrology systems and subsystems. Primary functions include requirements development, system designs, optical designs, vendor engagement, building prototypes in lab, generating build work instructions, developing processing algorithms, and engaging the professional community through conferences and papers.

Qualifications
Desired skills/Experience
- Well versed interferometry, aberration theory, lens design, polarization, diffraction theory, and radiometry.
- Fluent in use of Zemax with prior experience in tolerance analysis and stray light analysis of optical systems using Zemax
- Practical experience aligning optical systems in the lab.
- Proficient in Python or Matlab scripting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional organization skills
