Job Details

Role: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote(Occasional Travel to Columbus, Ohio)

Duration: 12+ Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Platform Management: Lead the design, implementation, and management of cloud platforms using OpenShift as the primary platform. Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes for seamless orchestration and scaling.

  • Load Balancing: Configure and manage F5 load balancers to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and optimal application performance across cloud environments.

  • Monitoring & Logging: Utilize Splunk as the primary logging and monitoring tool for comprehensive visibility into system performance and health. Leverage monitoring tools like Dynatrace or similar APM tools to ensure application performance and uptime.

  • Application Monitoring: Ensure proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of application performance across the platform.

  • Linux & Shell Scripting: Work in Linux environments for deployment, troubleshooting, and automation tasks. Write and maintain shell scripts to automate and streamline repetitive tasks.

  • Firewall Management: Manage firewall configurations to maintain secure network traffic and safeguard the platform from unauthorized access.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Work within Azure to deploy and manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring it meets the scalability, reliability, and security requirements.

  • Strategic Guidance: Act as a subject-matter expert and provide strategic guidance to client teams regarding platform architecture, deployment best practices, and operational efficiencies.

  • End-to-End Solutioning: Take ownership of the entire platform lifecycle, from strategy development and design to implementation, deployment, and ongoing optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with significant hands-on experience in OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes.

  • Cloud Expertise: Strong experience with Azure cloud environments and understanding of its integration with OpenShift and Kubernetes.

  • Load Balancing: Expertise in managing F5 load balancers and ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Monitoring & Logging: Hands-on experience with Splunk for centralized logging and performance monitoring. Experience with Dynatrace or similar APM tools is a plus.

  • Linux & Scripting: Strong background in Linux deployments, with proficiency in writing and maintaining shell scripts for automation and deployment tasks.

  • Firewall & Security: In-depth knowledge of firewall management and security best practices for cloud platforms.

  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to build comprehensive strategies for cloud deployments, guide clients through complex challenges, and provide thought leadership in platform management.

  • Strong Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education:
Bachelor s degree in computer science, information Systems, or related discipline.
