JOB TITLE: Senior Data Engineer

LOCATION: 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)

DUTIES: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Duties include: Functions include database architecture, engineering, design, optimization, security, and administration; perform data modeling, big data development, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) development, storage engineering, data warehousing, data provisioning, and other similar responsibilities; managing Platform-as-a-Service and Cloud solutions with a focus on data stores and associated ecosystems; overseeing design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, ensuring strict data quality, and performing needs assessments; analyzing current business practices, processes, and procedures, as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities; managing relationships with software and hardware vendors to understand the potential architectural impact of different vendor strategies and data acquisition; designing schemas, writing SQL or other data markup scripting, and supporting the development of analytics and applications that build on top of data; selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function; high-performance data storage and advanced computing architectures, ensuring efficient and reliable data management; and advanced data processing, data modeling, and analysis, driving insights, and informed decision-making. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a technology-related occupation.

Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:
* Databases such as SQL server 2000/2005/2008 R2/2012, MS Access, Snowflake, or Teradata,Oracle;
* Languages such as Transact- SQL, SQL, HTML, C. Java, Spring Boot, SQL, or Python;
* Operating Systems such as Windows NT/98/ 2000/XP/Vista/2003, MS-DOS OLAP/Reporting Tools SSAS, (SSRS), MDX, or Crystal Reports;
* Tableau, Desktop, or PowerBI;
* ETL Tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server DTS, ETL Informatica, or Talend;
* ETL Tools such as DBT (Data Build Tool);
* Workflow orchestration tool such as Apache Airflow:
* Microsoft Visual Source Safe, Microsoft Office, or MS Visio;
* Data Modeling Tools such as Microsoft Visio 2000/2003 or Altova tool;
* SQL Server Tools such as SQL server Management Studio, SQL server Query Analyzer, SQL server mail service , DBCC, BCP , or SQL server profiler;
* Programming languages such as C, SQL, PL/SQL,T-SQL, .NET, C#, or Java Springboot;
* Data Modeling Star Schema Modeling, FACT, Dimensions Tables, or Physical and Logical Data Modeling; and
* Data Warehousing & BI SQL Server, Business Intelligence Studio, SSIS, SSAS, Access Manager, SQL Server 2008/2012 Analysis Services and SQL Reporting services, DTS, ProClarity, or PPS-2007, MOSS.

RATE OF PAY: $ 106,579 - $160,226 / per year
