DataStaff is in need of a Data Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Richmond, VA.

* Teleworking available, however, candidate will need to be onsite 1-2 days per week for onboarding and initial knowledge transfer.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with strong SQL skills and experience working with Microsoft Dataverse to support post-migration data quality initiatives. The data migration from SQL Server to Dataverse has been completed, and this role will focus on reconciling records, identifying inconsistencies, and performing cleanup tasks to ensure the integrity and usability of data in the new system.
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed data cleanup, validation, and normalization within the Dataverse environment.
  • Use SQL queries to analyze and compare records from legacy SQL systems and the current Dataverse platform.
  • Perform data reconciliation to confirm accuracy and completeness of migrated data, identifying mismatches and resolving anomalies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business rules and define expected data standards.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate data quality checks and support ongoing data hygiene.
  • Document findings and cleanup efforts to ensure transparency and auditability.
  • Assist with building reports and views in Dataverse and Power BI to support data quality monitoring and operational needs.
  • Support efforts to enforce data governance and improve data management practices.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in SQL, including complex joins, data comparison, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Dataverse, including schema, data relationships, and business rules.
  • Experience with data quality and reconciliation efforts following system migrations.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify discrepancies, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform tools, particularly Power BI and Power Automate.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills for reporting findings and working with both technical and business teams.

Required Skills:

  • 3 Years - Proficient in SQL
  • 2 Years - Strong understanding of Microsoft Dataverse
  • 2 Years - Power BI
  • 2 Years - Experience analyzing large datasets
  • 1 Year - Power Automate

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Kingsway Soft and/or SSIS
