Job Details

NVIDIA seeks a seasoned Hardware Engineering Director to lead Product Performance and Power initiatives across our GPU and SoC product lines in the Datacenter, Consumer, Automotive, and Client segments. This role requires a technically deep, strategic leader who can drive performance and power specifications from architectural planning through final customer delivery. Lead all aspects of performance and power optimization, define metrics, and ensure alignment across teams. This high-impact leadership role requires teamwork across business units and deep technical influence.

What you'll be doing:
  • Lead and manage product performance and power strategies for all major business segments.
  • Define performance and power goals, specifications, and optimization plans across the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate multi-functionally with architecture, design, validation, software, platform and product marketing teams.
  • Assist in achieving company objectives by leading planning and technical decision-making.
  • Provide technical direction in silicon speed, power management, binning, low-power techniques, and system-level optimization.
  • Engage with executive leadership and key customers to communicate roadmaps, metrics, and tradeoffs.
  • Develop organizational methods, procedures, and evaluation criteria.
  • Mentor, coach, and grow high-performing engineering teams.
  • Cultivate a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What we need to see:
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ overall years of experience in silicon engineering with a focus on product performance and power.
  • 8 years of experience managing Engineering teams.
  • Proven leadership in product definition, optimization, and delivery at scale.
  • Deep understanding of silicon performance metrics, power management techniques, and low-power design.
  • Collaboration and communication skills across engineering, business, and executive functions.
  • Experience leading planning, budgeting, and staffing for multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Ability to mentor technical leaders and drive culture through influence and example.

The base salary range is 284,000 USD - 431,250 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
