Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Contingent Resource)
Location: Charlotte, NC

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the Calero VeraSMART engineering team on a contingent basis. This role will backfill a key team member and contribute to the ongoing development and support of VeraSMART-a SaaS platform for enterprise telecom management, including invoice payment, circuit provisioning, and inventory tracking.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus on the setup, automation, and support of 18+ internal and external data interfaces. You'll work with a variety of integration patterns including REST APIs, SQL, and file-based data exchanges. You'll also contribute to product configuration and reporting initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain data integration solutions using REST APIs, SQL, and file-based interfaces.
  • Analyze and resolve moderately complex software engineering challenges.
  • Participate in large-scale planning and contribute to the delivery of software engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business and compliance requirements.
  • Learn and support VeraSMART product configuration and reporting features.
  • Apply Agile methodologies and tools to manage and track development tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering or equivalent experience through a combination of work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in .NET and C#
  • Strong experience with SQL and advanced query writing
  • Familiarity with REST API development and integration
  • Experience with Python and scripting for automation
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices and tools such as Jira
  • Experience with Autosys Scheduler
  • Understanding of SDLC and software compliance standards
