Job Details

Role: Linux Administrator Specialist Location: Remote

Client : USPS

Duration: 12 months

Note: candidates meet the residency requirements (Last 5 years in the US with no more than 6 months out of the country).

List of tasks to be performed:
Schedule and deploy operating system or operating system components, patches or service pack releases, new or modified anti-virus software, custom written internal and or Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software using Ansible, other automation tools, or manually as required.
Build, upgrade, troubleshoot and configure servers with proper documented security settings.
Accept revised application software packages that have been certified by the Postal Service for production release (including new versions of existing software components) and perform an initial assessment of the impact to server operations.
Recommends and takes action to improve processes.
Perform any necessary testing of installing or updating software according to the requested action following the USPS Program Team s approval.
Use system management tools to monitor, mitigate, and remediate vulnerabilities.
Provide project plans,reports, and presentations using Microsoft suite of tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.).
Specialty in Linux systems, but must administer Windows servers when requested.

Required Experience Level:
Minimum of 5-7 years experience, in server management preferred

Educational Requirements:
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.
NOTE: If resource does not have a relavant college degree, an additional 4 years of relavant work experience is required.
