Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst to lead and support quality assurance efforts for a State Government project. The ideal candidate will bring extensive testing expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of compliance-driven environments. This role requires hands-on involvement in test planning, execution, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality, secure, and compliant applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead test strategy, test planning, and overall QA execution for the State project
  • Analyze complex business and system requirements to design detailed test scenarios and test cases
  • Oversee and perform manual testing, including functional, integration, system, and regression testing
  • Review and validate test cases and test results prepared by junior testers
  • Identify, log, prioritize, and track defects through closure using defect management tools
  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and State stakeholders
  • Ensure testing activities comply with State standards, policies, accessibility, and regulatory requirements
  • Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users
  • Provide regular QA status reports, risk assessments, and release readiness updates
  • Mentor junior QA team members and promote QA best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software testing / quality assurance
  • Strong expertise in test case development, execution, and defect management
  • In-depth knowledge of SDLC and STLC methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, ALM, HP QC, or similar)
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environments
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working on State or Government projects
  • Knowledge of compliance, accessibility (e.g., Section 508), and regulatory standards
  • Experience in data validation, API testing, or automation exposure is a plus
  • Ability to lead QA efforts in large, multi-vendor environments
