Job Title: SAP PP SME Functional Consultant
Location: Cincinnati, OH

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Production Planning (PP) SME Functional Consultant to lead PP module configurations, solution design, enhancements, and production support. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP PP, manufacturing processes, shop floor operations, and integration with related modules such as MM, QM, WM, and PM. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, manufacturing teams, and technical teams to deliver scalable and optimized SAP solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
  • Hands-on SAP PP functional experience.
  • Strong expertise in SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA PP.
  • Experience with MRP runs, planning strategies, and production execution.
  • Ability to write and review functional specs for RICEFW objects.
  • Knowledge of Fiori apps for manufacturing (S/4HANA preferred).
Business/Domain Skills
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes:
    • Shop floor operations
    • Production scheduling
    • Capacity planning
    • Material planning
Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for SAP PP across full project lifecycle: requirement gathering, design, configuration, testing, training, and deployment.
  • Translate complex business processes into SAP PP functional requirements.
  • Lead workshops with manufacturing, scheduling, and production teams to define solutions.
SAP PP Configuration & Support
  • Configure SAP PP submodules:
    • MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
    • MPS (Master Production Scheduling)
    • Shop Floor Execution
    • Work Center & Routing Management
    • Production Orders, Planned Orders
    • Capacity Planning
    • Demand Management
  • Configure and support BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Production Versions.
  • Optimize PP master data to improve planning and production accuracy.
Manufacturing Process Expertise
  • Provide functional support for Make-to-Stock (MTS), Make-to-Order (MTO), ETO, Process Manufacturing, and Discrete Manufacturing.
  • Work with plant operations to improve throughput, reduce cycle time, and support process automation.
Integration
  • Ensure strong integration with:
    • SAP MM (materials & procurement)
    • SAP SD (sales & delivery scheduling)
    • SAP QM (quality inspection in production)
    • SAP WM/EWM (inventory & warehouse)
    • SAP PM (machine maintenance impacting production)
  • Coordinate with ABAP developers for functional specifications and enhancements.
