Job Summary
The Manufacturing / Pinpoint Engineer will support assembly planning, production operations, and continuous improvement initiatives for Building Construction and Earthmoving equipment. The role involves setting up and optimizing assembly value streams using Pinpoint, integrating torque and quality tools, supporting manufacturing execution systems, and collaborating with shop operations to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Provide assembly planning support for Building Construction and Earthmoving equipment production lines.
Set up Assembly Value Streams in Pinpoint, including sections, stations, zones, and assembly operations.
Configure Pinpoint with assembly torque tools, fixtures, and in-process validation (IPV) checks.
Integrate torque tools, sockets, and quality inspection devices with Pinpoint to enhance preventive controls and interlock mechanisms.
Integrate Andon systems with the Pinpoint application and use production tracking dashboards to generate station/zone metrics (cycle time, material downtime, tool/fixture downtime, etc.).
Work with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), preferably systems compliant with MESA standards.
Update standard work documents and visual work instructions according to established guidelines.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), to improve throughput and product quality.
Provide tooling, processes, and equipment support to manufacturing operations to meet production needs.
Establish workflow and tooling standards and collaborate with shop personnel to resolve issues related to processes, equipment, and tools.
Required Qualifications
Experience in assembly planning or manufacturing engineering.
Hands-on experience with Pinpoint for setting up value streams, assembly tools, fixtures, and validation checks.
Knowledge of torque tools, inspection devices, and interlock mechanisms used in manufacturing environments.
Exposure to Andon systems and production tracking dashboards.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), particularly for assembly operations.
Strong knowledge of standard work documentation and visual work instruction best practices.
Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues collaboratively with shop personnel.
