Salesforce Tech Lead (Healthcare, Health cloud)
Remote
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of complex Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, architectural standards, and healthcare compliance.
  • Define and enforce best practices for Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, integrations, and data migration strategies.
  • Conduct technical reviews of code and design to ensure quality, performance, scalability, and adherence to security standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of Salesforce developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Translate complex business requirements from healthcare stakeholders into technical specifications and actionable development tasks.
  • Design and implement custom Salesforce solutions using declarative tools (Flow, Process Builder) and programmatic approaches (Apex, LWC, Visualforce).
  • Oversee and participate in the development of integrations between Salesforce and other healthcare systems (e.g., EHR/EMR, patient portals, billing systems) using APIs (REST/SOAP), middleware, and integration patterns (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Manage Salesforce environments, including sandboxes, deployments, and release management processes.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry processes, data models, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, PHI security, GxP).
  • Leverage Salesforce Health Cloud capabilities to optimize patient engagement, care coordination, and provider management.
  • Ensure all Salesforce solutions adhere to healthcare data privacy and security best practices.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Project Managers, and healthcare business stakeholders to understand needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the Salesforce platform within the organization.
  • Monitor Salesforce system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality within the Salesforce platform.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Salesforce development and administration, with at least 3 years in a Lead or Senior Lead role.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of direct experience implementing Salesforce solutions within the healthcare services industry (e.g., hospitals, clinics, payers, life sciences).
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce platforms - Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and specifically Health Cloud.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce development technologies: Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, SOSL.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce declarative tools: Flow, Process Builder, Validation Rules, Workflows.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP) and integration patterns.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and experience with healthcare system integrations.
  • Proven experience with Salesforce deployment tools and methodologies (e.g., DevOps Center, Ant Migration Tool, SFDX, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Salesforce Certifications:

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator
  • Salesforce Certified Health Cloud Accredited Professional (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect.
  • Experience with other Salesforce Clouds (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with data migration tools and strategies for large datasets.
  • Knowledge of healthcare specific security frameworks and compliance audits.
