The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Denali Software Engineer to join the Advanced Mission Management Denali group located in Herndon, VA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

As a member of a 40-person team, this individual will be providing software engineering functions for the design, development, and maintenance of complex, multi-tiered application software systems used to support the command and control of space vehicles. The software engineer will work day to day with System and Test Engineers in order to implement, test, and document new features and improvements for both web services and applications supporting distributed computing solutions.

Develop software in conjunction with agile team leadership including participation at all agile events. Assist in the execution of DevSecOps processes in order to deliver software baseline on sprint boundaries. Participate in PI planning as an agile team member. Engage with users and other engineers to determine solutions to technical issues. Opportunity for positional growth as technical leader.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Supports the design, development, test, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout the Agile lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
  • Supports development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
  • Supports debugging and resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
  • Interface with the user community for troubleshooting technical issues, user feedback, and future design concepts
  • Supports implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
  • Supports execution and documentation of software research and development projects
  • Interface with the integration and test team to inform execution and the development of automated tests


This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 2 plus years' experience with designing and developing software using Java, Python, and/or C/C++/C#
  • Experience with cloud-based development
  • 3 years' experience Agile Development


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience participating in or leading an agile team
  • Experience writing unit tests
  • Experience working with distributed teams
  • Proficient with Agile and modern software development practices

Summary pay range for Associate: $92,650.00 - $125,350.00.
