Job Title: Senior Azure Networking Engineer (Palo Alto Expertise)
Location: Remote
Type: 3-month Contract (with possible extension)
We re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Azure Networking Engineer with a strong background in Palo Alto firewall technologies to join our growing cloud infrastructure team. This role is critical to designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures within Microsoft Azure.
You ll work closely with cloud architects, security teams, and DevOps engineers to ensure our cloud environments are resilient, secure, and optimized for performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Azure networking solutions including VNets, subnets, NSGs, route tables, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and Azure Firewall.
- Deploy and manage Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls in Azure, including policy configuration, threat prevention, and HA setups.
- Optimize Azure-to-Azure and hybrid connectivity, ensuring low latency and high availability.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce zero-trust architecture and integrate Palo Alto with SIEM and monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Automate network provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep.
- Monitor and analyze network performance, security events, and traffic flows.
- Stay current with Azure networking advancements and Palo Alto feature releases.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 4 years focused on Azure networking.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (SDWAN, BGP, OSPF), and VPN technologies.
- Proficiency with Azure networking services: Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Private Link, Azure Firewall, etc.
- Experience with Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep for network automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Network Watcher, and Palo Alto Panorama.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, AZ-700, AZ-104) are highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SD-WAN and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, ISO).
- Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python for automation and diagnostics.
- Experience working in DevSecOps environments.
