Summary
The company is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Cambridge, Ohio facility. In this position, you will be responsible for providing process engineering and technical support for the Melt Shop (Electric Arc Furnaces) and Roaster operations. Initially, your focus will be on the final configuration of our new Zanesville Plant Melt Shop and Roaster prior to start-up and technical support of systems, processes, and operations during commissioning, start-up, and post start-up operations.
Responsibilities and Duties

- Provide support with final design concepts, configurations and installation of the Zanesville Plant Melt Shop and Roaster equipment and processes prior to start-up
- Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up of the Zanesville Plant
- During ongoing operations, develop, assess, and implement process improvements that increase equipment reliability, productivity, capacity, throughput, quality, and efficiency; work with Operations and Engineering to optimize Melt Shop and Roaster production while reducing cost
- Lead continuous improvement activities
- Collect data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to measure, analyze, document, and evaluate operational processes; develop and maintain reports to track and monitor key data
- Support capital improvement projects
- Conduct risk analysis of equipment, processes, and systems
- Serve as Operations department back-up supervisor when needed
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in extractive metallurgical engineering preferred; metallurgical engineering or chemical engineering degree required; MS or MBA a plus
- 3-5 years of experience required; heavy manufacturing experience a plus
- Strong process/technical/analytical skills
- Proficient in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiment (DOE) methodologies
- Previous project management experience a strong plus
- Excellent critical and logical thinking skills; problem-solving skills
- Previous supervisory experience a plus
- Command of lean manufacturing principles; mindset for continuous improvement
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and facilitation skills
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Excel), knowledgeable of MS Project Management, Primavera, Minitab and Thermo-Calc Software applications
- Desire to learn and grow with the Company
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 a plus
