Job Title: Lead Windows Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Chicago, IL and Indiana Polis (Onsite)

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Windows SME to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years of extensive experience with Windows operating systems and a proven track record in systems administration, architecture, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of Windows servers and workstations, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex Windows-related issues and provide expert-level technical support.
  • Architect, design, and implement Active Directory, Group Policy, and other Windows services.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy advanced Windows-based solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level team members.
  • Stay updated with the latest Windows updates, patches, and industry trends.
  • Perform SSL Certificate management activities, Windows Firewall, PKI and Certificate Services, distribute wildcard certificates to individual or SAN certificates
  • EFS with BitLocker, Exploit Protection, Control Flow Guard (CFG), EFS with BitLocker, Windows Firewall
  • Manage the SSL Certificate management platform

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience working with Windows operating systems.
  • Deep expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
