Job title: Mainframe Developer (Production Support)
Job Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Onsite)

Job Description:
- Monitoring & Maintenance: Continuously monitoring mainframe jobs, batch processes, and system
- Incident Management: Troubleshooting and resolving issues (job failures, performance lags, abends - abnormal ends), often under tight SLAs.
- Batch Job Support: Managing and supporting batch cycles (JCL Job Control Language) and ensuring scheduled jobs complete successfully.
- Application Support: Supporting applications built on COBOL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, etc., and coordinating with development teams for bug fixes or enhancements.
- Change & Release Management: Deploying patches, updates, or code changes in accordance with organizational processes.
- Performance Tuning: Identifying performance bottlenecks and collaborating to optimize system and job performance.
- Disaster Recovery & Backup: Ensuring systems and data are backed up and recoverable in case of failure.
- Documentation & Reporting: Keeping incident logs, standard operating procedures, and root cause analysis reports updated.
Common Tools & Technologies
- Languages: COBOL, JCL, REXX
- Databases: DB2, IMS
- Transaction Processing: CICS
Key Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of ITIL practices (especially Incident and Problem Management)
- Ability to work in 24x7 production environments (including on-call support)
