Job Description

ECS is seeking a Jira Engineer to work in our Washington, DC office.
  • Develop solutions that extend the Atlassian platform, such as custom Confluence pages, Jira architecture, Atlassian plugins, reporting, and user interfaces.
  • Ability to scale the Atlassian configuration for scalability and performance.
  • Find creative solutions to solve customer problems and implement them in web form applications.
  • Engage with clients to fully understand complex requirements to implement project setups and workflows.
  • Work closely with the clients to gain trust, propose creative solutions, and get buy-in for design and implementation.
  • Troubleshoot problems with users such as permission/security restrictions, notifications, workflows, etc.
  • Connect with industry and channel resources to collaborate and bring innovative approaches to client work.
  • Develop metrics, dashboards, and advanced filters to provide end-users and business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.
  • Plan, test, and implement upgrades and migrations for Atlassian tool suite.
  • Create reporting using Atlassian add-ons, security schemes, extensions, and configurations.
  • Identify areas for process automation and designing/implementing solutions to improve efficiency and operations.
  • Access to projects as defined by the permission scheme.
  • Work with issues in the project (create, read, update, possibly delete).
  • Be assigned work (issues).
  • Create boards, dashboards, and saved filters.
  • Comment on and share issues with other users.
  • View project reports.
Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000

Required Skills

  • Must have a current Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of obtaining SCI / CI-Poly if needed to meet contract requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years related experience in IT solutions development.
  • 7+ years in leading teams of developers and support engineers.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Atlassian Data Center products, specifically Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of Agile, SAFe and continuous integration practices.


Desired Skills

  • Experience integrating with other tools outside of the Atlassian suite (ServiceNow, Microsoft tools, GitHub, etc.)
  • Experience with large-scale Atlassian implementations and/or Atlassian Data Center Deployments.
  • Experience with common plugins that extend Atlassian (e.g., ScriptRunner, Structure, etc.)
  • Experience with Jira Align and/or program level Agile management integrations.
  • Customer Service mindset and passion for helping users solve problems.
  • An Agile certification.
