Overview
We are seeking a full-time Engineering Application Administrator 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will engineer, deploy and support multiple applications and systems, including MacOS. Additionally, you will administer, develop, and support software engineering tools within Garmin's engineering groups.

We are seeking a full-time Engineering Application Administrator 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will engineer, deploy and support multiple applications and systems, including MacOS. Additionally, you will administer, develop, and support software engineering tools within Garmin's engineering groups.
Essential Functions
- Engineer, deploy and support multiple applications and systems, including MacOS
- Provide administrative support for software engineering applications. These applications are used within the Engineering department, including, but not limited to software configuration management, issue tracking, and other software development related applications
- Expertise and ability to provide support and administration for Windows and MacOS
- Uses tools/scripting to efficiently manage technology
- Participates in roadmap planning for systems or applications
- Provide triage and troubleshooting for incoming user requests to:
- Ensure requests contain complete and accurate information
- Classify and categorize requests
- Handle requests or assign to other team members as appropriate
- Experience with testing and upgrading software engineering applications
- Experience in evaluating, integrating, administrating, and supporting new software engineering application
- Learn how to use and apply engineering tools as needed for this role
- Create and manage documentation for all stages of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Perform internal audits and work with outside auditors to maintain regulatory compliance
- Work with users to analyze/configure/tailor security and access levels to related applications
- Adhere to SOX policies and procedures
Basic Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or another technology related field AND a minimum of 4 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent academics
- Demonstrated ability to support enterprise systems and to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutions
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting
- Consistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a team environment
- Experience in software engineering applications management.
- Experience with the following applications:
- Atlassian's Jira and Confluence
- Artifactory
- Gerrit/GitHub
- Azure DevOps
- Jenkins/Zuul
- Docker
- Kibana
- Expertise and ability to provide fundamental support and administration for Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- Developing tools and processes to improve workflows
- Virtualization experience ideally provisioning macOS build servers on-demand
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., OpenStack, Amazon AWS, Cloud Foundry) and Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare, VirtualBox) in support of software build processes
- Document new processes, update, train and educate other team members
- Scripting and/or programming knowledge is a plus
