This is a Hybrid role, 3 days onsite in Warrenton, VA.


We are seeking a highly motivated Hardware engineer responsible for design, implementation, integration and testing of digital and RF systems with a focus on communication devices.
You will work as part of a small group to develop a new communications device and assist with design reviews and trade studies.

Candidate will have a strong background in RF hardware design, test and measurement in support of a fast paced, multi-disciplinary design team.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing, implementing and review of PCBs for an RF communications system to include RF and power distribution

Conducting thorough testing and validation of HW to ensure robust performance

Analyze schematic diagrams for either custom or commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) electronic hardware

Develop and maintain requirements documents, functional specification documents, interface control documents, engineering wiring diagrams etc.

Develop project test plans and test procedures, provide test planning support, and assist in the execution of both lab testing and field testing

Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team (electrical engineers, systems engineers, software engineers, and signal processing engineers) to implement innovative solutions

Providing technical expertise and guidance on different hardware solutions, methodologies and best practices

Supporting customer integration and troubleshooting efforts

Interfacing with PCB vendor to flow requirements and provide testing feedback

Qualifications:

Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience using standard lab equipment such as an oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, power supplies etc.

Demonstrated RF design experience for receivers and transmitters

Understanding and demonstrated implementation of RF cascade analysis to be able to trade gain, noise figure and linearity as part of system design

Experience in RF theory and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems

Knowledge in the areas of performance characteristics of analog data converters, ADCs/DACs and how they interface with the RF front end

Experience with Linux operating systems for testing and troubleshooting

Experience with PCB circuits to include power and control signals

Experience with CAD software is highly desired and not required

Able to work independently to identify HW components necessary to meet project requirements and assist in procurement process

Proficiency in general computer skills such as Microsoft office Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Active SECRET Clearance, TS/SCI preferred
